Michael Jacksonâs mother is no longer considered missing, but cops were called to her Southern California home Monday for a mysterious âfamily disturbanceâ and battery claim, an official told the Daily News.
The late King of Popâs teen daughter took to Twitter hours after the alleged confrontation to express more worry and frustration related to her 82-year-old grandmother, Katherine Jackson.
â8 days and counting. Something is really off, this isnât like her at all. I wanna talk directly to my grandmother!!â Paris Jackson, 14, tweeted Monday afternoon.
Katherine Jackson was in Arizona, according to one of her sons, and TMZ.com reported, citing unnamed sources, that she was staying at a spa in Tucson.
Back in California, Los Angeles County Sheriffâs deputies paid a visit to the house that Katherine Jackson shares with Paris and her two brothers shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, a department spokesman said.
âIt was a family disturbance call. A scuffle did occur, and a report of a battery was taken,â spokesman Steve Whitmore told The News. âThere were no arrests made, and itâs an ongoing investigation.â
He declined to identify the parties involved in the dust-up, but said it did not change his departmentâs decision to close an earlier investigation involving the Jackson family matriarch.
âThe Katherine Jackson case has been closed. We determined that sheâs safe and with a family member,â he said.
That case began when a concerned family member filed a missing-persons report Saturday night amid a dispute over the estate of Katherineâs superstar son.
Whitmore declined to say if Mondayâs alleged battery was related to Katherineâs whereabouts.
According to Celebuzz.com, three of Michael Jacksonâs siblings arrived at the Los Angeles-area home shortly before police were called and appeared to have a TV crew in tow.
Janet, Jermaine and Randy reportedly wanted to leave with Michael Jacksonâs children â" Prince Michael, 15, Paris, and Prince Michael, 10 â" but Katherineâs security squad objected, Celebuzz reported.
Attempts to reach Katherineâs lawyer, Sandra Ribera, were not immediately successful.
The new front in the family fight comes after siblings Janet, Randy, Jermaine, Tito and Rebbie Jackson penned a letter claiming the late singerâs will is âfake, flawed and fraudulent.â
The letter accused Michael Jackson's estate executors of forging Michael's signature on the will and demanded that they resign immediately as managers of their brother's estate.
The siblings accused the lawyers of stressing out Katherine Jackson to the point that her health was beginning to fail.
The lawyers have called the claims "false and defamatory."
Ribera told CNN that Katherine flew to Albuquerque, N.M. on July 15 with her oldest daughter Rebbie to attend a Jackson brothers concert.
Ribera said that each time Paris tried to reach Katherine by phone while she traveled, she was told that she could not speak to her.
âIâm concerned that [Katherineâs]not safe,â Ribera claimed.
Paris took to Twitter on Sunday morning to ask for help in finding her grandmother.
âYes, my grandmother is missing. I haven't spoken with her in a week; i want her home now,â the distressed granddaughter wrote.
Jermaine Jackson used Twitter to deny that his mom was missing and to assure fans that she is simply âresting upâ in Arizona on the order of a doctor.
âThis is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctorâs advice. Period,â he wrote.
Katherine Jackson has been taking care of Michael Jackson's three children since his death in June 2009.
It is unclear who's acting as guardian in Katherine's absence.
