It’s been a big few days for the singer and actress Selena Gomez, having turned 20 in front of a cheering crowd at the Teen Choice Awards and taking home a surfboard gong for her pop band Selena Gomez and the Scene, but the star showed us she’s like any other girl when she stepped out for some downtime in LA yesterday.
The newly 20-year-old starlet chatted on her iPhone like any other young girl whilst dressed casually en route to a chilled out lunch at Japanese restaurant in Sherman Oaks, with her heartthrob beau Justin Bieber nowhere in sight.
The star looked effortlessly cute in a tiny pair of white denim shorts, a white t-shirt with a ‘peace’ sign emblazoned on it and brown knee-high lace up booties. She accessorised with an oversized Louis Vuitton bag, a pair of aviators and some boho gold jewellery.

Selena looked particularly low-maintenance as she scraped her hair back into a ponytail and wore very little make-up.
Her daytime look was a stark contrast to the young lady we saw posing for the paps in a hot pink minidress by Dsquared2 and towering Herve Leger heels at the Teen Choice Awards the previous night, but we love both looks.
Miss Gomez took to her Twitter page earlier in the morning to thank everyone for joining her in celebrating her birthday, writing: “beyond blessed, so much love. Thank you for the most incredible birthday yet! I'm truly, truly grateful. I love my family, friends and all of you.â€
