With her engagement making headlines just days ago Jennifer Aniston only had a little bit of time to enjoy it before returning to work.

The former Friends star was seen on the set of her new film, but she kept her wedding finger well out of sight, yesterday, in Wilmington, North Carolina.

In her first public appearance since saying 'yes' to Justin Theroux, the 43-year-old looked cool and calm as she headed onto set hiding her face behind her long fringe and a pair of sunglasses.

Jennifer looked superb in a knee length grey dress which showed off her tanned legs as she prepared to film scenes for movie We are the Millers.

After a brief stop in the hair and make-up trailer she walked off accompanied by a crew member to begin shooting but, again kept her left hand out of sight as she carried a white towel.

Her fiance, who she has been inseparable from for the past few weeks, was also nowhere to be seen as his lady got into character.

Justin proposed to Miss Aniston on Friday whilst on the set of her latest film.

The actress, who has starred in a growing number of romantic comedy films, seems to have finally found love after having had several high profile break-ups.

She has been dating 41-year-old Theroux, an actor and screenwriter, for the past year, and recently declared: 'Yes, I'm very happy. I'm extremely lucky, and I'm extremely happy.'

A spokeswoman for Theroux, who is a cousin of British documentary-maker Louis Theroux, confirmed: 'Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.'

Since splitting with ex-husband Brad Pitt in January 2005, Aniston has dated a string of men, including Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson, which all ended rather quickly.

However, one man that has remained a constant in Jennifer's life is her father John Aniston, and he has previously spoken glowingly about his future son-in-law.

The American soap star has described Theroux as a 'charming young man', and gave his seal of approval saying, 'I think they make a wonderful couple.'
