Shia LaBeouf may have risen to fame playing relatively conventional characters in audience-friendly works, but in recent years, he’s done just about everything in his power to distance himself from that image. A few months back, that quest convinced him to disrobe in Sigur Ros’ absurd new video, and now, it’s apparently taking him even crazier places.

The actor recently boarded Lars Von Trier’s new erotic drama Nyphomaniac, and the early buzz is LaBeouf may be having real sex with at least one of his co-stars for the role. There’s no word on how LaBeouf’s girlfriend might feel about him sticking it somewhere else for his art, but here’s what the actor told MTV…

"There's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we'll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening."

Apparently, LaBeouf finds the prospect of working with Von Trier on this movie dangerous, and since not many prospects have the potential to push him in such a direction, he feels like he needs to take the journey and do whatever it is the director asks.

On the one hand, it’s pretty noble that LaBeouf has eschewed the easy, big budget event films to work on projects he finds more intellectually satisfying. On the other hand, it’s kind of insulting that he thinks fucking someone on screen is a more worthy use of his time than making movies most people would actually be interested in seeing.
