Don't go buying Sofia Vergara a wedding gift just yet.
While it sure seemed like the Modern Family star and her boyfriend Nick Loeb got engaged earlier this week during her 40th birthday celebration in Mexico, it turns out they're not.

A source tells E! News that Loeb did pop the question with a ring, but Vergara didn't say yes.

And this is where the confusion set in because not only are the lovebirds still together, but Vergara has been wearing the ring.
Photos from the Mexico trip show the two very much in love, sightseeing, partying with friends and frolicking on the beach.
Just last night, about 100 people (including Modern Family costars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sarah Hyland) gathered for Vergara's beachside birthday bash at the Rosewood Mayakoba resort. No one made mention of an engagement, but no matter.
"They were very cute together," another source tells E! News of Vergara and Loeb. "He was incredibly attentive to her and was focusing his attention on her for most of the night."
While we have to wait and see what happens, one thing is for sureâ€"Vergara would make one hot bride.
