Looks like Barack Obama can’t help Amanda Bynes now. The actress has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run, Celebuzz confirmed.

“Amanda Bynes has been charged with two counts of hit-and-run yesterday,” a spokesman from Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office told Celebuzz. ”The case was filled yesterday.”

The complaint alleges two hit-and-run incidents â€" one in April and the second in August of this year.

If convicted on both counts, the 26-year-old starlet faces up to six months in jail and a $1000 fine for each charge.

What made prosecutors charge Bynes?

Bynes was first accused of a hit-and-run on San Fernando Valley’s 101 Freeway in April. However, prosecutors initially rejected the case after witnesses failed to name the actress as the woman behind the wheel.

This past month, the actress was involved in  yet another hit-and-run accident, forcing prosecutors to re-open Bynes’ previous case and file charges against the actress.

Celebuzz confirmed the actress is due in the Van Nuys Superior Court on Sept. 27.

Bynes’ driving record has taken more than a few hits in recent months. On April 6, Bynes was arrested for a DUI after she side-swiped a police cruiser. The actress spent the night in jail, with bail set at $5,000.

The former child star wasn’t very happy with her arrest. In June, she issued a bizarre Twitter plea to President Barack Obama: “Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”

Then, in May, she collided with a pick-up truck in Los Angeles. However, the damages were minor and no charges were filed as a result of the accident.

Only  a few short months later, Bynes was accused of yet another hit-and-run. Following the report, Bynes stripped down her Twitter account, deleting all of her previous tweets.

E! Online previously reported that if convicted, Bynes’ hit-and-run charges will not affect her DUI case.
