Christina Aguilera's New Album Lotus Out In November - MTV.com

Christina Aguilera had some big news for her fans on Wednesday (September 12). When she took to Twitter to answer her fans' burning questions about her next album, she revealed that Lotus will be released in November.

"Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives," she wrote, adding, "There will be a 'Lotus' intro to set the tone for the whole record. Conceptually I didn't target one particular sound/genre. Self expression and freedom [are album themes]. The album represents a rebirth for me."

For fans who didn't get to listen to the album's lead single, "Your Body," when it leaked last month, they will officially get to hear it when it drops on Friday, ahead of a sneak peek of the video, set to premiere during "The Voice" on Monday.

Shot in August, it was directed by Melina Matsoukas (who also directed Rihanna's VMA-winning "We Found Love") and she described it as "playful, tongue & cheek." While she didn't confirm when the full video will drop, she revealed the single's artwork, where she appears nude with a blush-colored sheer piece of fabric covering her.

And while "Your Body" is a Max Martin-produced club banger, she confirmed that there will be some slower jams on there as well. She wrote, "There are some beautiful personal ballads on this album. I wouldn't do a record without them."

Lotus is Aguilera's first release since 2010's Bionic. In addition to dropping new tunes, Aguilera just kicked off another season as a judge on "The Voice." She recently teased that she may take a break for the show's fourth season, something that was also hinted at during her Twitter spree. "I'm excited for S3 & #TeamXtina. Love this show! But I'm also excited to be in artist mode and sharing new music," she wrote.
