Rihanna Shows Off New Chest Tattoo - MTV.com

Ahead of her appearance at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony in London on Sunday night, Rihanna tweeted out her latest piece of ink, in honor of her late grandmother, who passed away earlier this summer.

She posted the topless photo to her Instagram, proudly displaying her latest tat, which is of the goddess Isis and is located under her breasts. She wrote, "Goddess Isis- Complete Woman - Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart #1love."

Isis, according to Egyptian mythology, was worshipped by the lower classes, the oppressed and artists as the "ideal mother and wife as well as the patron of nature and magic." Rihanna's grandmother was a big part of her life until her death. She passed away in July after a lengthy battle with cancer and was buried later that month in Barbados.

While she had been wearing a sheer red top during her VMA performance last Thursday, the ink wasn't visible that night. But it was noticeable underneath her sheer top on Sunday night when she took the stage alongside Coldplay and Jay-Z.

She was spotted one day before the event on Saturday in London's SoHo neighborhood walking out of the tattoo parlor with a bandage. She currently has nearly 20 tats to her name.

According to CBS News, Rihanna performed a number of tracks during the star-studded affair, including "We Found Love" solo and "Princess of China" and "Run This Town" with Coldplay and Hova. She had two costume changes, which included the sheer red-orange gown as well as sheer black top. She told the crowd, "Being at the Paralympics is the biggest honor. These athletes are gladiators and are a true inspiration to me."

The Paralympics took place in London after the Olympics games wrapped up. They are played by disabled athletes in a number of athletic events.

With the VMAs behind her (where she performed and took home the Moonman for Video of the Year) and the Paralympics Closing Ceremony done, Rihanna will hit the road next March for her just-announced Diamonds World Tour.
