The tone is a bit ominous and gives us a Clark Kent who is largely directionless and going through the motions. He has to decide what man he wants to grow up to be because his choice will change the world, one way or another. Two trailers debuted, one at Yahoo! and one and MSN. You'll notice they're very, very similar except for one key difference: the man doing the voiceover. See if you can tell who's who.
Did you figure it out? The voice in the first one is Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent's human father. The second voice is Russell Crowe's, who plays Kal-El's actual father, Jor-El. Nice move there.
Iâm not sure anyone has ever accused Zack Snyder of being bad with visuals. Thus, itâs no surprise Man Of Steel looks so incredibly beautiful. Ultimately, it will rise and fall based on the quality of its acting and the sharpness of its script. With Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon tapped as the leads, the former shouldnât be a problem. Weâll just have to wait and see if thereâs enough punch to the story to continue the Superman legacy in the way it deserves.
With a release date still a full year away, this certainly wonât be the only trailer weâll get for Man Of Steel. The next effort should be brimming with action and shots of the other leads, but as a teaser, this one works quite well. Iâm now more on board with Superman than ever. Hereâs to hoping the trajectory continues upward.
