The way to woman's heart in Fashion Week: Free hair, makeup - USA TODAY

Before heading to Fashion Week runways at Lincoln Center over the coming week, the fashion designers, photographers, models and other fashionable guests staying at the Hotel Belleclaire can look extra confident.

Why? The Belleclaire - during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which ends on Sept. 13 - is offering free hair and makeup sessions with professional stylists inside the hotel.

It's a partnership that more hotels should consider, especially at times when they're packed with a fashion-conscious, time-pressed crowd. I can think of quite a few female travelers (hint, hint) who'd consider this a special, convenient - and memorable - treat worth sharing repeatedly with friends via Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels.

(Note: Virgin Atlantic's already figured this out. The airline's top-end customers flying out of London Heathrow airport can get a free Bumble & Bumble trim or styling session in the Virgin Clubhouse.)

Fashionistas who book the Belleclaire's Fashion Week special package - starting at $319 a night - can go into the hotel's "Social Scene Room." There, stylists from a local Dramatic NYC salon will make them look extra good.

Not only are the sessions free, but guests will be able to go as often as they'd like during set hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., says the hotel's director of sales and marketing, Adisa Feratovic. The salon's sponsoring the event, which lasts until Sept. 13.

It's a clever package considering the hotel's in the midst of a renovation project in its lobby.

The lobby renovation is about halfway complete, Feratovic says. The hotel's 230 guest rooms have recently been upgraded. It's also a good way to give the chic-on-a-budget hotel some added panache.

The independent Belleclaire (250 W. 77th), located in a landmark building that opened in 1903, is including a few other things as part of its Fashion Week package.

The price includes a deluxe room with plush robes - as well as a bottle of champagne, Dean and Deluca gourmet snacks and bottled water upon arrival, plus two tickets to the Stand Up NY Comedy Club, she says.

The guys aren't left out, either.

In the lobby, dapper male guests will find the Brooks Brothers Table, where staff will be demonstrating the Windsor Knot and Bow Tie. They can also pay extra for a shave at the Art of Shaving, which is down the block.

The Fashion Week special can booked online on the hotel's website. Rooms contain free wireless internet, Gilchrist & Soames amenities, luxury Frette linens, a flat-screen HDTV and laminate-wood floors.

The Belleclaire's a quick cab ride or about a 15-minute walk from Lincoln Center, home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. On TripAdvisor, it's ranked No. 195 of 431 hotels reviewed for New York City.

New York's Fashion Week kicks off the global calendar of Fashion Weeks around the world.
